Elon Musk’s AI Company xAI Launches iOS App for Its Chatbot Gork

The AI chatbot , Gork developed by Elon Musk’s AI company xAI, has officially launched as a standalone for Apple’s iOS.

Gork is now ready to compete with rival AI chatbots, including Google’s Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Meta’s MetaAI and Microsoft’s Copilot, all of which have already been adopted by hundreds of thousands of  users. These platform offer web search access and mobile apps for both iOS and Android, while Meta’s AI is remains integrated with its other apps, such as Facebook, WhatApp and Messenger.

Initially Gork AI chatbot was launch in July 2023, integrate with X (Formerly Twitter), and accessible only to premium X users who paid $8 a month. However, in December 2024, xAI announced that Gork-2 would be available for free to all X Users, making it a free-to-use app like its rivals. The standalone app began testing in December 2024 before its official launch.

There are limitations on the free version, such as limit of 10 requests every 10 hours and only three image analyses per day, it is possible that these restrictions will also apply-to the standalone.

Like other AI assistants, Gork can answer questions, generate images, and search real-time information.

The release date for its Android app is still unknown.
